About Asuka

Asuka Nakahara is a partner with Triton Atlantic Partners, a real estate advisory and investment firm that he co-founded in 2009. For more than two decades, he has taught at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, where he is a practice professor of real estate and also associate director of the Zell/Lurie Real Estate Center. Nakahara consults with companies and institutions across diverse industries with areas of focus including strategy, leadership development, financial management, organizational assessment, real estate, and executive coaching.

Nakahara has received numerous teaching awards, including Wharton’s top teaching honor, and has served as lecturer, panelist, or moderator for Harvard Law School, Wharton’s National Football League (NFL) Business Management and Entrepreneurial Program, the Young Presidents’ Organization, and others.

In 1980, Nakahara began his 20-year career with Trammell Crow Company (TCC). He was named a partner in 1983, opened the company’s Philadelphia office in 1985, and was promoted to Northeast (U.S.) regional partner in 1987, joining the firm’s Management Board. As chief financial officer, he played an integral role in the company’s 1997 IPO. Nakahara retired from TCC at the end of 1999. He currently serves on the boards of Comcast Corporation, CBRE Clarion Global Real Estate Income Fund, and Rice University, and is a past director of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Foundation, the United States Golf Association, the Professional Golfers’ Association of America, and Vanguard Group’s Innovation Studio, among others.

Nakahara received his BS in Civil Engineering with honors from Rice University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
